✈️Latest Credit Card Transfer Bonuses: Oh boy…

This year has been SLOW on the transfer bonuses. As of March, there are only two point transfer bonuses available from major credit card programs. These bonuses allow cardholders to get more value when transferring their credit card points to various airline and hotel loyalty programs. Here’s a summary of the current offers:

American Express Membership Rewards Transfer Bonuses:

Avianca LifeMiles: Get a 15% bonus, available until March 15, 2024.

Citi Transfer Bonuses:

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club: There’s a 30% bonus for transfers to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, available until March 16, 2024.

These transfer bonuses can significantly enhance the value of your points, especially if you have specific travel plans that align with the participating airlines and hotel programs. As always, it’s important to consider your own travel goals and preferences when deciding whether to take advantage of these offers. Maybe we’ll see some more in the months ahead.

✈️ Delta Bids Farewell to Los Angeles-London Route ✈️

In a surprising move, Delta Air Lines has announced the cessation of its Los Angeles (LAX) to London (LHR) service starting May 6, 2024. This decision marks the second time Delta has discontinued this particular route, which was only reinstated in the summer of 2023 after an eight-year break. The route, operated daily by an Airbus A330-900neo, will see its final flights as DL186 from LAX to LHR and DL187 on the return leg. This comes as a significant shift for Delta, which has been ambitiously vying to become Los Angeles’ leading carrier, despite stiff competition and a crowded market with American, British Airways, United, and Virgin Atlantic also serving this lucrative route.

Delta’s strategic retreat from the Los Angeles to London corridor raises questions about its global positioning out of LAX. However, this move isn’t without a backup plan. In partnership with Virgin Atlantic, where Delta owns a 49% stake, passengers still have access to up to three daily flights between these cities under their joint venture. Moreover, Delta plans to reallocate its resources by adding a third daily flight from Atlanta (ATL) to London, starting May 7, 2024, optimizing its operations where it sees a stronger market presence and loyalty.

The discontinuation of the LAX-LHR route by Delta underscores the complex dynamics of international route planning, especially in slot-restricted airports like Heathrow. While joint ventures offer flexibility and broader service coverage, the perception of brand presence and connectivity from key markets remains a challenge. As Delta redirects its focus, the airline industry continues to adapt to changing market demands and strategic priorities.

✈️Nonstop London: A Deal You Can’t Miss

If London’s iconic Big Ben is on your travel wish list (and you’re mad that Delta will be stopping flights from LAX), we’ve got thrilling news for you! Our latest find offers nonstop deals to London, completing our week’s spotlight on Europe’s most sought-after destinations. For those planning their escapades from April to May or September through November 2024, this is your chance to cross the pond without the hassle of layovers.

The deal spans several U.S. cities, with fares starting as low as $584 for a roundtrip to London’s Heathrow (LHR). Notably, travelers from Denver and San Francisco can snag tickets for just $587, while those flying out of Las Vegas and Los Angeles have an even sweeter deal at $584 (not Delta). It’s a golden opportunity to experience the charm of London without breaking the bank.

Keep an eye on Norse Atlantic for potential savings, but remember to factor in their baggage fees, which could tip the scales. The fare includes a carry-on, but a checked bag will set you back an additional $75 each way. As always, membership perks offer more than flight savings, so be sure to check out your exclusive benefits.

Whether you’re drawn to London by its history, culture, or simply the allure of nonstop travel, these deals from American, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic are not to be missed. Dive into the details and prepare for an unforgettable journey to the heart of the United Kingdom.
